One of the advantages of electric water heaters is that they don’t need to vent toxic gases to the outside of the home which eliminates penetration in the side of the house. They can last 10+ years when serviced appropriately. However, when compared to natural gas, hybrid and on-demand water heaters they typically take the longest to replenish.
